Description:  The next morning I caught NECR moving cars to the interchange. B4 crossing CSX an NECR crew member makes a call from one of the boxes visible in this photo. The NECR yard (to the left out of the photo) uses this track over the diamond as its switch lead. On this day #4047 made 4 passes over the diamond to make up the short train to the interchange yard. /DL

Description:  This EARY train, seen in Sylacauga, AL, is seen switching on the West end of town behind Wendy's. This is on the old southern-most leg of the L&N Mineral Belt Line that went from Gadsden, AL down through Anniston, Talladega, Sylacauga and then swung West over to Calera where it met up with the S&NA Line. Now, this line only runs between Gantts Jct. just West of downtown Sylacauga up to Bemiston just outside (South) of Talladega. Interchange partners are NS in Sylacauga and CSX in Talladega.
