PRR Local at Phoenixville, #1 of 2, 1953
Here is the first of two successive original photos by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, on 25 January 1953. Prominent here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3108, a G-5S (4-6-0) "Ten-Wheeler" built in Juniata during September of 1923 and retired in February of 1953 after 30 years of faithful service. Note the Fireman on the tender's deck, refilling the reservoir. "Fill 'er up, Mack!" Partially visible at the left is PRR P-70 passenger coach #3448. At the right is PHOENIXVILLE Tower. Roy Healey Collection; #19 of 38.
